Ready to POP!
Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 5:21PM Yes, that's right... a new blog entry. No pictures, just words. Too tired fro pictures (and picture editing, posting, etc.) lately. But, feeling bad for not documenting more lately... about Ben, about this pregnancy and life in general.
So, I am in the final stretch of this pregnancy. I am so uncomfortable!!! No room to spare in the tummy anymore, back hurting and generally exhausted most of the time. So ready for this baby boy to make an appearance. Counting the days now. But then...
I don't feel at all ready for him yet! It is so different with the second vs. the first baby. With Ben we had everything ready weeks in advance. Everything washed and ready to go way before time with nursery put together and car seat installed. With baby boy coming in 11 days I am feeling totally unprepared.
Day Out with Thomas (aka Father's Day)
Monday, June 22, 2009 at 7:45PM

We spent Father's Day with Ben at the Whitewater Valley Railroad yesterday morning. They had Day Out with Thomas who is one of Ben's favorite characters. Ben was very excited to see Thomas and wanted to ride him right away, but our ride wasn't until 11:15 and so we had to kill some time after getting there at ten.

Ben played on this old toy engine for a while. It wasn't very crowded in the morning so it was nice that he got to spend as much time on each activity as he wanted.

They had a tent set up with lots of Thomas and Friends toys and blocks. Ben had lots of fun in there and also spent some time coloring in the tent. He was a little sad to leave this area, but it starting getting crowded and was so hot! We moved on to the shaded train station porch to cool off and wait for Thomas to arrive from his latest excursion.

Finally we were able to board Thomas for our ride! Ben was so excited and just had this look of complete awe on his face the whole time. I don't think that he said more than two words the whole ride.

And when we were done he didn't really fuss when getting off the train, but he wanted to go for another ride right away. I guess he'll have to wait for the Polar Express in winter:)

It was a great day, for a GREAT dad!
It's a Boy!

Weekend Update
Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 7:02PM This weekend has been fairly busy.
All week we have been working here and there over at our old townhouse doing a few minor things since we started listing it FSBO this week. We patched and painted then did some cleaning before we took pictures for flyers and listed it on craigslist. We have gotten a couple of calls and showed it a few times at the end of the week as well as had a open house today which three couples came to and one that was a second showing. Keeping our fingers crossed that we sell it soon.
Ben got lots of outdoor time this weekend too. The weather has been absolutely fantastic here. On Friday I slathered him in sunscreen and he went out to the back yard to play in the hose. He had a great time!

And I had fun watching him:)

Saturday night we went to a minor league baseball game with the Weddles. It was Ben's first live sporting event and although we had to cut our evening short in the 7th inning due to bad weather in the area, we still all had a great time. Ben especially liked the giant soft pretzel portion of the evening. He was fun to see in downtown Indy. He really took in all the buildings and cars and said "What's this mommy?" to everything he saw. It was great.
We have an ultrasound appointment in the morning and will hopefully find out boy or girl:) We are so excited to find out!!!
